Bamboo is one of the most elegant woods one can use for an umbrella; to match this, we opted for a simple, plain pattern in blue. Simple elegance, highest quality, traditional manufacture: a real Shibumi piece.
The Talaricos have been hand-crafting the finest umbrellas for four generations now in their workshop in Naples. Among their customers was Italian monarchy as well as religious leaders; we value Mario Talarico’s high quality standards and his exquisit craftmanship very much. The shaft is crafted from a single piece of wood, the ring closure seamed by hand, the buttons and tip made from real horn. Aesthetic and function really come together in these: the one-piece handle is at the same time a masterpiece of workmanship (finding and handling a suitable piece is no easy task) and of functionality: the single piece is much less likely to break than one put together from several smaller pieces. The quality of the raw materials and the workmanship ensure that this umbrella will last. The individual grain pattern gives each piece a unique quality and to watch the slow patination of the handle is a joy. A span of 110cm and a relatively strongly curved canopy are not just perfectly balanced and aesthetically pleasing but also provide substantial shelter from the elements.
